Southern Atlantic – Opportunistic Real Estate Investment
Southern Atlantic seeks to unlock the highest value of the real estate projects we execute.. Our investments include a host of developed and undeveloped properties including townhome communities, multi use facilities, orange groves, timberland, responsibly operated mines, and more. Led by John Hetzler, Caroline Hetzler, and James Moon, Southern Atlantic develops opportunistic real estate driven investments in the southeast United States and beyond.

Southern Atlantic leadership supports assets from acquisition to development.
John Hetzler
is the managing partner of Southern Atlantic. He began working in investment real estate in the early 2000s. Then, in 2010, John started buying and selling real estate in the southeast, diversifying into different asset classes. John Hetzler draws on his 20 years of experience across a diverse range of asset classes to guide the company’s investment strategies.
Caroline Hetzler
is the general contractor who oversees all construction and development facilitated by Southern Atlantic’s in-house construction team. Caroline uses a network of subcontractors she knows from years of development experience that are trusted, experienced, and skilled.
James Moon
is responsible for the execution of strategy surrounding all aspects of Southern Atlantic’s real estate investments. Before joining the company, he worked as a Petroleum Landman in North Dakota, Oklahoma, the Texas Panhandle, and South Texas. With an opportunity to apply his knowledge of the land in his home state of Tennessee, James moved to Chattanooga to join Southern Atlantic in 2016.
